Johannisberg Castle “at it’s best”. Grown deep in the quartzite. Matured in the treasury “Bibliotheka Subterranea”. Multilayered, concentrated with enormous aging potential!
Tasting note from Stuart Pigott on July 12, 2022:
“When I taste this wine, I feel like Goethe is about to walk in the door! It is as self-consciously anachronistic as a 1920s Bentley or an 1820s Breguet pocket watch. Yes, there is an oxidative side, but the combination of creaminess and silky dryness is simply incomparable. And beneath the surface of direct perception, there is a gigantic structure and a stunning finish! Aged for 30 months in neutral wood barrels. To be drunk now already, but best from 2024.”
