Gin and Vermouth have a long tradition at Schloss Johannisberg. Back in 1805, the former cellar master Odo Staab had the idea for a “juniper water”. Our current SCHLOSS GIN is based on this recipe, refined with the aroma of bitter oranges from our castle garden. The SCHLOSS VERMOUTH is based on our Grünlack Spätlese, refined with bitter oranges and fine herbs. SCHLOSS GIN and SCHLOSS VERMOUTH are a strong team for your summer cocktail. CHEERS!

SCHLOSS JOHANNISBERG RECIPES:

Schloss Vermouth Spritz

Place ice cubes in a wine glass
– 5 cl Schloss Vermouth
– 2 tsp wild berries
– 5 basil leaves tap
– 1 cucumber slice
– 10 cl tonic water
– stir
– perfume with an orange zest

Schloss Pink Gin Fizz

Place ice cubes in a wine glass
– Put the ice cubes in the shaker
5 cl Schloss Gin
– 3 cl lemon juice
– 2 cl sugar syrup
– 5 raspberries
Shake vigorously
– Double strain into the wine glass
– Add 5 cl soda
– tap on fresh aromatic mint
– Garnish with a sprig of mint & a raspberry garnish

 Schloss Spezial

The delicate orange notes of our Schloss Gin refined with the bittersweet Schloss Vermouth, rounded off with tingling Fürst von Metternich sparkling wine.
-1 part Schloss Gin
-2 parts Schloss Vermouth
fill it up with Fürst von Metternich sparkling wine and garnish with an orange zest

  Schloss Negroni

Place ice cubes in a glass
– Add ice cubes to the mixing glass
– 3 cl Schloss Gin
– 3 cl Schloss Vermouth
– 3 cl Campari
– Stir cold in the mixing glass
– Pour into the glass
– perfume with an orange zest
– Tap the aromatic mint and
add to the glass
