93 Punkte | 2023 SCHLOSS JOHANNISBERG GELBLACK TROCKEN

This beautiful dry Rheingau riesling has complex aromas of yellow peaches, grapefruit, kiwis and red gooseberries with a hint of orange blossoms that delights and teases. Remarkable concentration and vitality for an entry-level wine. Very long, structured and complete finish that is simultaneously ripe, cool and properly dry. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.

93 Punkte | 2023 SCHLOSS JOHANNISBERG GELBLACK FEINHERB

Generous and juicy yet bright and animating, this is a beautiful dry Rheingau riesling with a wide range of yellow peach, melon, citrus, white flower and honeysuckle aromas. Wonderfully long and crisp finish that is a delight. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.

96 Punkte | 2023 SCHLOSS JOHANNISBERG BRONZELACK TROCKEN

For a sleek dry riesling that’s barely medium-bodied, this has fabulous concentration and aromatic complexity. A whole garden of flowers just after a summer thunderstorm when the sun returns. But also mandarin oranges and the red berry fruit of a beautiful summer. Then the racy and wet stone acidity bowls you over in the incredibly energetic and cool finish. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.

98 Punkte | 2022 SCHLOSS JOHANNISBERG SILBERLACK GG

Very deep and enormously structured, this great dry Rheingau riesling has a fabulous harmony of fine tannins, concentrated Mirabelle plum, flint and chamomile character on the medium- to full-bodied palate. Enormously energetic wet stone finish that takes your breath away. From organically grown grapes. Drinkable now, but best from 2026.

98 Punkte | 2023 SCHLOSS JOHANNISBERG ORANGELACK KABINETT

What explosive aromas this astonishing riesling Kabinett has. The aromatic maelstrom is hard to adequately describe, but there’s no question that the flinty energy catalyses the astonishing spectrum of aromas that reaches from rose hips to gunpowder via vineyard peaches and pomegranates. Staggering energy in the extremely long and incredibly stony finish. From organically grown grapes. Drinkable now, but best from 2026.

98 Punkte | 2023 SCHLOSS JOHANNISBERG GRÜNLACK SPÄTLESE

This conclusively proves that riesling Spätlese is a category capable of enormous greatness. Titanic concentration and precision on the incredibly ripe and focused palate. Yes, in some sense this is medium-bodied and is off-dry, but it blasts away all those categories to be entirely itself and do its own thing. As much succulence as wet stone freshness, plus an energy that says you should stand back if you’re not sure that you’re strong enough for the long, stunning finish. Decades of aging potential. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.

99 Punkte | 2023 SCHLOSS JOHANNISBERG ROSALACK AUSLESE

A sensational riesling Auslese that leaves you wondering why you wanted to do anything else today other than drink this wine. Fabulous peachy finesse that makes me think of the pink shimmer on the skin of a beautiful white peach. Delicacy, delicacy, delicacy. And no less finesse. Extremely long, filigreed finish with an underlying wet stone character that electrifies this masterpiece of purity. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.

99 Punkte | 2023 SCHLOSS JOHANNISBERG PURPURLACK BEERENAUSLESE

Anybody who doesn’t know what the noblest form of botrytis smells like is in for an extraordinary initiation. What a mind-boggling array of tropical fruit aromas (think mango, papaya, mangosteen) this gigantically concentrated riesling has. And then the supernova acidity kicks in and blows you clear off your chair. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.

100 Punkte | 2023 SCHLOSS JOHANNISBERG BLAULACK TROCKENBEERENAUSLESE

The first impression is a bit deceptive, because this comes across as a great riesling TBA, but it is way more than that, thanks to the electric acidity that takes this enormous concentration and honeyed richness and shines an almost blinding searchlight on it. And this doesn’t even tell you that the wine has a truly incredible density of dried mango and papaya aromas. Gigantic finish that is so fresh and pure your mind struggles to make sense of it. From organically grown grapes. Drinkable now, but best from 2028.

100 Punkte | 2021 SCHLOSS JOHANNISBERG GOLDLACK TROCKEN

Prepare yourself to meet the spirit of great mineral dry riesling. Gigantic dried peach and dried pear notes, but even more flinty character. A wealth of dried herbs, too. Immense concentration of stony minerality that washes over you like a great wave. Matured for two and a half years in 1,200-liter used oak cases, the last year in the deepest and oldest section of the cellar. Drink or hold.
