Talent Times Four
Just three years after its founding in 2019, the Isidore String Quartet won the prestigious Banff Competition—an impressive testament to its extraordinary musical abilities. This was followed by additional awards, a celebrated European tour, and a highly acclaimed debut in our “Ausgezeichnet!” series at Johannisberg Castle. Enthused by their distinctive blend of youthful lightness and mature musicality, we have now invited the four musicians from the U.S. back to the Rheingau two years later. Their multifaceted program spans a broad arc through the history of chamber music—from Haydn’s classical clarity to Mendelssohn’s romantic depth, to Webern’s introspective modernism and Billy Childs’ contemporary expression—and, through the interpretations of these four chamber musicians, unfolds the full spectrum of the art of the string quartet.
