A Summit of Two Rising Stars
Having one exceptional artist on stage is wonderful—but having two is even better! Violinist María Dueñas, this year’s featured artist, and pianist Alexander Malofeev are among the most brilliant musical talents of their generation and, as a regular duo, have been thrilling audiences—including those at the Salzburg Festival—with their seamless collaboration. Despite their still-young careers, they have already won numerous awards and established themselves on major international stages. Ever since her victory at the 2021 Menuhin Competition, María Dueñas has been regarded as a rare talent and celebrated for the virtuosity of her playing as well as her bel canto-like tone. In Alexander Malofeev at the piano, she has found a musical partner on equal footing—one who not only shines with virtuosity but can also step back sensitively without losing any depth. These are ideal conditions for their joint chamber music evening at Johannisberg Castle, where they will transport their audience into the colorful, dazzling world of the Romantic-Impressionist era.
