Young, talented, and up-and-coming: The musicians of the “Classical Marathon” are among those talents standing on the threshold of a great career. They have all already won prestigious awards and are now making their mark on the classical music scene with fresh energy. But every beginning is difficult—which is why, since 1997, the Rheingau Music Festival has made it its mission to discover and nurture these young musicians and to accompany them as they take their first steps on the big concert stage. Whether in chamber music ensembles or as soloists, they gather on the Johannisberg Castle Stage in the Fürst-von-Metternich Hall for a varied evening of music, gaining experience performing before large audiences in a wide variety of ensemble configurations—because we’re certain this won’t be the last time we hear from them…
