“Sommernachtstraum” with Rufus Beck

Shakespeare Reimagined
Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”—at first glance, that sounds like complex world literature. But on this evening, the British playwright’s comedy will be presented in a very special production. For when the renowned audiobook narrator and voice actor Rufus Beck takes the stage, one of Germany’s most beautiful voices will enchant the audience. Together with sisters Anna and Ines Walachowski at the piano, Rufus Beck presents his ironic, modern take on the iconic “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” in a touching and humorous performance brimming with music and storytelling. Accompanied by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy’s famous four-hand incidental music, Beck moves between dream and reality and, with a healthy dose of humor, slips into the various characters of the play. This interpretation of the British classic is charming, top-notch, and astonishingly funny!
