\nLisa Batiashvili\u2019s performances as the festival\u2019s Artist in Residence, originally scheduled for 2020, had to be canceled due to the pandemic. But this coming summer, she will finally be performing in the Rheingau again! Joining her will be the multi-award-winning Schumann Quartet and the charismatic pianist Nino Gvetadze. At the heart of the program: Ernest Chausson\u2019s Concerto for Violin, Piano, and String Quartet, Op. 21\u2014a masterpiece straddling late Romanticism and Impressionism. The audience can look forward to a performance of gripping intensity and artistic refinement. As the quartet\u2014winners of the 2019 OPUS KLASSIK award\u2014puts it: \u201cA work truly unfolds only when performed live.\u201d Just how impressive this can sound in the works of Saint-Sa\u00ebns, Beethoven, and Chausson will be revealed this evening at Schloss Johannisberg.<\/p>\n
